Designated Supportive care section. Elderly Day Care – Short-term admissions: E.g., during family holidays. Short term nursing care for acutely ill members of the community / Residents of SAVF housing scheme.  Daily meals for sale to housing residents.

Provide a safe and secure environment for all frail, aged persons with disabilities Prepare and provide three balanced meals – Additional menus have been created for diabetics & other religious groups eg. Hindus etc. – Provision is also made for soft diets for the more frail residents Medical checkups for the elderly Educational talks on healthy living Case studies by nursing staff on a weekly basis – different residents are involved.  Clinic visits: State pharmacy and collect the required medicines when ready. Collect dry medicine from Germiston state clinic once a month. Group interaction: – Residents committee – Residents meeting – Church services / Inhouse services / Bible studies / Holy communion – Social events in the lounge – Learning about different cultures. Transport services to the local shopping centre. Interview & assess potential admissions – as to suitability (group 3) – A panel with relevant team members including the officials of the Department of Social Development.  Complete DQ98 for each application.   Discussion with family as to their involvement with the resident.  Telephonic & walk-in inquiries handled.  Orientation of new residents and completion of the Individual Development Plan (IDP).  The new resident is welcomed by the residential committee members.   Therapeutically engage with the residents of the facility as well as their family members.  Individual counselling.  Group sessions.   Family/relatives counselling.   Active aging activities.   Arrange social activities.   Arrange spiritual activities.  Encouragement committee.

To manage and maintain comprehensive 24-hour quality care for 140 frail aged groups 3’s on an ongoing basis. Comprehensive quality care in the assisted living complex for 44 older persons in 27 flats in the greater Boksburg area. To provide social work services to all residents.
